به نقل از بوم سا: ششمین کنفرانس ملی روز جهانی محیط زیست با شعار تولید ملی در راستای اقتصاد سبز ، 24 تا 26 خردادماه 1391 در دانشگاه تهران برگزار می‌شود.
به گزارش خبرگزاری مهر روح الله نقدی پور بیرگانی رییس پژوهشکده محیط زیست و دبیر ششمین کنفرانس ملی روز جهانی محیط زیست با اعلام این خبر گفت: حفاظت از زیست‌ بوم‌های مختلف و همچنین تنوع زیستی در جهان عاملی اساسی برای دست یافتن به یک اقتصاد پایدار و سبز است. انعطاف‌پذیری ساختار اقتصاد جهانی تا حد زیادی به وضعیت محیط زیست و طبیعت وابسته است و این نکته‌ای است که در چند دهه اخیر مورد اتفاق نظر بسیاری از اقتصاددانان و همچنین حافظان محیط زیست قرار گرفته است.

رئیس اداره منابع طبیعی ورامین از تهدید تاغزارها می‌گوید: تاغ‌های مسروقه ورامین درکوره‌های زغال‌سازی

شاید بسیاری از ساکنان امروز ورامین ندانند این شهرستان تا همین 30سال پیش با معضل عجیبی روبه رو بود. شن‌های روان همه چیز را می‌پوشاند؛ از زمین‌های کشاورزی گرفته تا ریل‌های قطار و مناطق مسکونی .تنها راهی که جلو این دردسر را گرفت درختچه‌هایی به نام تاغ بود. گیاهانی که امروز به ضرب پتک و به زور اره روانه کوره می‌شوند تا سودجویان از فروش ذغال جیب خود را پر کنند.
دو نیم قرن ورامین با مشکل شن‌های روان درگیر بود .ضیا نصرتی، رئیس اداره منابع طبیعی و آبخیزداری ورامین به ایران می‌گوید: 30 تا 40 در صد ورامین بیابان است و از سال 1347 حرکت تپه‌های شنی به معضلی برای تردد قطار‌ها تبدیل شد.راه‌آهن مشهد از این منطقه می‌گذرد و شن روی ریل را می‌پوشاند و از حرکت قطار جلوگیری می‌کرد.

مرتع یکی از عرصه های طبیعی است که خدمات و کالاهایی متعددی ارائه می دهد و بالطبع بهره برداران مختلفی نیز از این خدمات و کالاها بهره مند می شوند.  هدف از برگزاری این کنفرانس انتقال تجارب در خصوص پرداخت عوارض بهره مندری از خدمات زیست محیطی مرتع می باشد.

Background and Objectives
Rangelands account for more than 60% of the land cover in the Hindu Kush Himalayan (HKH) region. They comprise a mix of woodlands, open grasslands, and wetland habitat offering valuable natural resources. These rangelands also provide varied ecosystem services:

• regulating services such as the control of climate and disease;
• provisioning services such as the production of food, feed, and clean drinking water;
• supporting services such as nutrient cycles and crop pollination; and
• cultural services such as spiritual and recreational benefits.

FAO Releases Asia-Pacific Forestry Briefs

April 2012: Policy briefs resulting from the second Asia-Pacific Forestry Sector Outlook Study (APFSOS II) highlight concerns with biodiversity loss in the region, a need for improved governance and better forest management at the field level, and a call for enhanced training and awareness of forestry issues. APFSOS II was issued by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO).

APFSOS II synthesizes observations and findings from almost 50 countries on the status and trends of Asia-Pacific forestry. The publication also analyzes key factors driving changes in forestry in the region, and sets out three scenarios for 2020: "Boom," "Bust" and "Green Economy." The report concludes by outlining priorities and strategies to move the region's forestry sector onto a more sustainable footing and to provide continued benefits to future generations.

The brief titled "Forests for a greener future" reviews trends in deforestation and forest degradation, biodiversity loss in the region and threats to biodiversity. It outlines the region's roundwood production and demand, and stresses that a way forward for the region is investment in forest resources as a mechanism for mitigating climate change and its impacts. It also calls for gradually relinquishing direct government control over forest resources, to improve social and economic justice.

This conference will be organized  by the International Dryland Development Commission (IDDC) and hosted by the  Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and  Engineering Research Institute (CAREERI) China. It will be co-sponsored by  the Association of Agricultural Research Institutions of Near East and North  Africa (AARINENA), Arid Land Research Centre (ALRC, Japan), Asia Pacific  Association of Agricultural Research Institutions (APAARI),  Centre  International de Hautes Etudes Agronomiques Méditerranéennes (CIHEAM), Desert  Research Institute (DRI, USA), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United  Nations (FAO), International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas  (ICARDA), National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), United Nations  University (UNU), and World Meteorological Organization (WMO). The Conference  will be supported by the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and  Development (AAAID), Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD),  International Development Research Center (IDRC-Canada), International Fund for  Development (IFAD), other international and national  organizations.

The conference will include invited  presentations, oral presentations and poster  presentations.

Beijing is a modern capital with an  ancient history. She is celebrated for her attractive natural surroundings,  historic sites and cultural monuments. The Olympic Games was held in Beijing in  2008. Meanwhile, with her numerous research institutes, universities and  colleges, Beijing is also the scientific and educational center in  China.

دبیراجرایی کنوانسیون مقابله با بیابان زایی و مدیر برنامه عمران ملل متحد برای اجرای برنامه های استراتژیک کنوانسیون مقابله با بیابان زایی در خلال سال های 2014-2012 توافق نامه ای امضا نمودند. در این تفاهم نامه بر مباحث متنوعی تاکید شده است که از آن جمله 4 محور ذیل می باشد:

1- بهبود شرایط معیشتی جمعیت مبتلابه در مناطق خشک،

2- بهبود شرایط اکوسیستم های متاثر،

3- تولید منافع جهانی از طریق اجرای کنوانسیون مقابله با بیابان زایی،

4- بسیج منابع برای حمایت از اجرای کنوانسیون از طریق ایجاد همکاری موثر بین بازیگران ملی و بین المللی.

UNCCD, UNDP Strengthen Strategic Collaboration on Life of Drylands Populations

موسسه بین المللی توسعه محیط زیست در زمینه یادگیری از طریق عمل بسیار فعال می باشد. چندی است که مشارکت از مفاهیم پایه آن که مداخله فعالانه در برنامه ریزی، اجرا، پایش و ارزیابی فراتر رفته و رویکردش به سطح " حکمرانی یا Governance" رسیده است. در گزارش ذیل که خلاصه آن را ملاحظه می کنید روی این که چگونه می شود جوانان را برای مشارکت در برنامه ها و نهایتاَ حکمرانی از طریق یادگیری از طریق عمل  آماده نمود کار نموده است که می توانید این گزارش 17 فصلی را از اینجا داونلود کنید.

All over the world citizens are starting to demand accountability from those in power. We are seeing exciting experiments in participatory governance. But are they working for young people? What spaces are most promising for the participation of children and young people in governance?

Across Africa youth (particularly boys and young men) are seen as a ‘lost generation’: frustrated, excluded and marginalised from decision-making processes. 

Contributors to this special issue demonstrate how this is changing. Young people in Africa are challenging the norms and structures that exclude them, engaging with the state and demanding accountability. This special issue describes how young people are exercising their right to participate and developing the knowledge, skills and confidence to affect to change. It explores methods of communication, appraisal, monitoring and research which are involving young people in decision-making spaces. It asks how can we re-shape how young people perceive and exercise citizenship? How can we redefine and deepen the links between young citizens and the state? 

This issue demonstrates the persistence, passion and enthusiasm that youth bring to governance processes – and how they are driving change in creative and unexpected ways. It highlights how young Africans are addressing the documentation gap that surrounds youth and governance in Africa and enabling other participatory practitioners – young and old – to learn from their experiences. 
It will also be valuable for those working in other regions. 

Participatory Learning and Action is the world’s leading informal journal on participatory approaches. It uses the expertise of guest editors to provide up-to-the minute accounts of participatory approaches in specific fields. Since 1987, PLA has provided a forum for participatory practitioners – community workers, activists and researchers – to share experiences, reflections and methodological innovations with others, providing a genuine ‘voice from the field’.

یونسکو یا سازمان آموزشی، علمی و فرهنگی ملل متحد هر دو سال یکبار به افراد و یا موسسات فعال در زمنیه ارتباط با جوامع روستائی جایزه ای به ارزش 20000 دلار آمریکا می پردازد. امسال دو سمن یکی از کشور کنیا و دیگری از نپال به عنوان برندگان این جایزه معرفی شدند که باید این جایزه بین این دو تقسیم شود.

چهارمین کنگره علوم ترویج و آموزش کشاورزی و سومین کنفرانس بین‌المللی ترویج و آموزش کشاورزی و منابع طبیعی - شهریور 1391

انجمن علمی ترویج و آموزش کشاورزی ایران مفتخر است با همکاری دانشگاه تهران، وزارت جهاد کشاورزی، وزارت تعاون، کار و رفاه اجتماعی و سایر دانشگاه‌ها و سازمان‌ها، در راستای  ارتقاء و توسعه  دانش ترویج و آموزش کشاورزی در کشور و  گسترش و تقویت هر چه بیشتر پیوندهای فعالان حوزه‌های اندیشه و عمل، استادان دانشگاه، صاحب‌نظران و دانش‌پژوهان، مسئولان و مدیران، دانشجویان و  کارشناسان در عرصه ترویج، آموزش و توسعه کشاورزی، نسبت به برگزاری چهارمین کنگره ملی و سومین کنفرانس بین‌المللی تحت عنوان " ترویج وآموزش، پیشران توسعه پایای زنجیره کشاورزی و غذا" و کارگاه‌های آموزشی و نمایشگاه جنبی در شهریور ماه 1391 اقدام نماید.

بیش از 1 میلیون نفر آمریکایی در اقدامی اعتراضی نسبت به ساخت آفت کشی که باعث مرگ زنورهای عسل می شود، طوماری را امضا نموده و بدین ترتیب اعتراض خود را به آژانس حفاظت محیط زیست نشان دادند و خواستار بررسی دقیق و توقف تولید آن شدند.

Million Petitioners Want to Halt Bee-Toxic Pesticide

WASHINGTON, DC, March 21, 2012 (ENS) - More than a million citizens signed an emergency legal petition filed with the U.S. EPA today seeking suspension of use of a pesticide linked to honey bee deaths.

Last month at the UNEP Governing Council meeting there was a very good discussion on the principles of a green economy amongst stakeholders and major groups. The discussion built on all of the work on principles developed by the ITUC, ANPED, Stakeholder Forum/Bio-Regional, the Green Economy national dialogues facilitated by IIED, the Earth Charter, and many more. The discussion identified 9 key principles for a green economy, which not only helped to define a collective understanding of what a green economy must deliver but went on to be picked up by governments throughout the ministerial meetings.

 To build on the momentum around this process, we have opened up an online global consultation on these 9 draft principles to get your feedback and input. Report on “Life Beyond Growth” Proposes Combining Green Economy and National Happiness Concepts

Ced Hesse کارشناس تغییر اقلیم موسسه بین المللی توسعه محیط زیست ضمن بیان مطالبی در مورد مناطق خشک از منظر بارش کم، نامنظم و نوسانات شدید بارش بین سال های مختلف و وسعت آن که حدود دو پنجم خشکی های جهان است و 2.3 میلیارد نفر را در خود جای داده است به بهترین روش بهره برداری از مناطق خشک که همانا دامداری متحرک، دامداری - کشاورزی و کشاورزی دیم است اشاره می کند که در طول اعصار گذشته ابداع و تجربه شده اند می پردازد. سپس با اشاره به سیاست های دولت در تغییر شیوه بهره برداری از مناطق خشک از طریق آبرسانی اشاره می کند و مثال هایی از کشورهای هندوستان و چین اشاره می کند و  از نادیده گرفتن دانش بومی مردم در بهره برداری از عرصه گلایه می کند و اضافه می کند که علیرغم هزینه های گزاف بابت انجام طرح های جدید بهره برداران جدید، بهره برداری مناسبی از عرصه ها ندارند و روند تخریب فزاینده است. همه جا هم بهره برداران به عنوان عامل تخریب معرفی می شوند و کمتر سیاست های نادرست زیر سوال می روند.

در پایان تاکید می کند که هر گونه کاری در مناطق خشک مستلزم 3 کلمه است که با E شروع می شود که عبارتند از اکولوژی، برابری و اقتصاد . Triple E    -   Ecology, Equity and Economics

Ecology, equity and economics: reframing dryland policy

Drylands are among the world’s most variable and unpredictable environments. But people here have long learnt how to live with and harness this variability to support sustainable and productive economies, societies and ecosystems. Policymakers have for too long ignored this wealth of experience and expertise with dire consequences. In the face of climate change and increasing uncertainty in the drylands, the need to reframe policy and practice has never been greater. In this opinion, Ced Hesse explains that the future must be built on sound scientific information, local knowledge, informed participation and the wisdom of customary institutions.

ISO 26000 and global governance for sustainable development

ISO 26000 is a new international standard on social responsibility developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).  It offers guidance across themes including human rights, labour, environment, consumer protection, fair operating practices and community development.  The brand recognition of ISO standards, ISO's geographical scope and its credibility among market actors mean that ISO 26000 has the potential to improve the practice of social responsibility in local and global markets.  The reach and scale of ISO 26000's impacts has important implications for governance and public policy.

Standards - and market governance mechanisms more broadly - should be analysed not only in terms of their direct impact on environmental, social and economic factors but also in terms of their interaction with policymaking and global governance. 

The evolving relationship between market governance mechanisms and public governance, both national and global, has not been adequately considered to date.  But this relationship matters for sustainable development.

This paper describes the development of the ISO 26000 standard and discusses the dissonances that emerged in relation to policymaking, global governance and consequently sustainable development.  The paper suggests a number of steps that could be taken to maximise the positive contributions of ISO 26000 to global governance for sustainable development and offers lessons for the analysis of other market governance mechanisms.

 BET is designed to improve the understanding of managers and employees across business functions about their company’s direct and indirect impact and dependence on ecosystems, ecosystem servicesand biodiversity. Designed specifically for business, it incorporates WBCSD methodologies, materials and tools that have been developed over the course of 15 years, as well as material from other institutions.

Expert Group Assesses Sectoral Data on Socioeconomic Impacts of Climate Change in the Caribbean

اما شبکه های اکولوژیک هم دارای تاثیرات خود می باشند که باید در تعیین کاربری اراضی مد نظر قرار گیرد. به تازگی در تحقیقی که در دانشگاه واخنینگن هلند انجام شده این موضوع را بررسی نموده است که متاسفانه بنده امکان دسترسی به آن مقاله را نداشتم.

Ecological networks and cost-benefit analysis

Increasing pressure on land demands a careful assessment of competing activities in land-use planning. Cost-benefit analysis is increasingly used in planning processes to select the land-use plan that delivers the highest net social benefits. Two researchers from LEI, part of Wagneningen UR, have recently explored how the value of ecological networks can be incorporated into cost-benefit analysis to improve spatially explicit land-use planning.
The research is based on the assumption that cost-benefit analysis facilitates efficient and effective decision-making where there are competing land uses. Land-use planning can be improved if the value of the spatial relationships between land uses can be computed sufficiently easily. An economically sound methodology was developed to incorporate the spatial dimensions (size and connectedness) of ecological networks within cost-benefit analysis. The methodology computes the value of ecological networks by accounting for the
essential spatial characteristics (size and configuration) of areas of natural land. This methodology can be generalised to other land uses. The optimal configuration of different land uses, which accounts for the value of the ecosystem network, will generate a land-use plan with the highest net benefit.

13 January 2012: A recent meeting in support of the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF) addressed the role of markets and promotion of sustainable forest management (SFM) on the pathway to a green economy. The meeting's outcomes will be used as input for both the 10th session of UNFF as well as the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).The meeting, a country-led initiative hosted by Viet Nam and co-organized by the Netherlands and Finland, was held in Hanoi, Viet Nam, from 10-13 January 2012. The meeting focused on market mechanisms that would contribute to an enabling environment for legal and sustainable production of timber and SFM, such as promoting international trade in legally produced timber, as well as private and governmental procurement policies in the context of combating deforestation.

Jan McAlpine, UNFF Director, commented on the effects of trade on forest-dependent communities. According to McAlpine, addressing trade's effects on forest-dependent communities requires a cross-sectoral approach that includes "breaking down the institutional silos and working horizontally across institutions in various sectors, including agriculture, community and rural development and natural resources management," among others.

IFPRI to Lead Two New CGIAR Research Programs

 In January 2012 IFPRI is launching two major research programs. These CGIAR Research Programs (CRPs), led by IFPRI, will bring together researchers from across the CGIAR centers to address some of the most pressing problems facing the global food system.

The first of these two programs—Policies, Institutions, and Markets to Strengthen Food Security and Incomes for the Rural Poor, also known as CRP2—will identify the policies and institutions that will enable rural smallholder producers, particularly women, to increase their incomes through better links with markets and equitable access to services and assets. Failures related to policies, institutions, and markets are a major impediment to increasing agricultural growth in the developing world, where a majority of people depend on agriculture for their livelihoods. This CRP seeks to produce a body of knowledge that decisionmakers can use to shape policies and institutions that will reduce poverty and promote sustainable rural development. Mark Rosegrant, Director of IFPRI's Environment and Production Technology Division (EPTD), serves as Acting Director of CRP2.

The second program—Agriculture for Improved Nutrition and Health, also known as CRP4—aims to improve the nutrition and health of poor people by exploiting the many synergies between agriculture, nutrition, and health. This program will focus on research in four key areas: value chains, biofortification, control of agriculture-associated diseases, and integrated agriculture, nutrition, and health development programs and policies. John McDermott has been named Director of CRP 4.

In addition to playing a leadership role in these two CRPs, IFPRI researchers will also contribute to two other research programs: Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security (CRP7, led by CIAT), and Water, Land, and Ecosystems (CRP5, led by IWMI).

The aim of the Guidelines is to outline a normative, policy and operational framework for UN-REDD Programme partner countries to seek FPIC, as and when appropriate, as determined by the Programme partner country in consultation with relevant rights-holders. The Guidelines also provide definitions of the underlying elements of FPIC and information on grievance and accountability.

The Guidelines were developed through a consultative process with indigenous peoples and civil society representatives via a series of regional consultations held between June 2010 and January 2011 in the 3 regions where the UN-REDD Programme is active: Africa, Asia and the Pacific, and Latin America and the Caribbean. During these consultations, participants developed definitions and processes to operationalize FPIC for the UN-REDD Programme. جناب بان کی مون دبیر کل سازمان ملل متحد روز 13 دسامبر 2011 در سخنرانی خود رسیدن به توسعه پایدار را بدون رفع نابرابری های اجتماعی امکان پذیر ندانست و از جامعه بین الملل خواستار ایده های نوین و جدید برای تشریک منابع جهانی شد. وی در ادامه به ارائه برخی آمارها از قبیل وضعیت فقر و عدم دسترسی به انرژی و بیکاری-  عدم تحصیل کودکان و عدم دسترسی به خدمات بهداشتی و ... نمود.

BAN STRESSES NEED TO ADDRESS SOCIAL INEQUITY WHILE PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon stressed today that sustainable development cannot be achieved without addressing social inequalities and called for fresh ideas and international commitment to fairly sharing global resources.

“One billion hungry people – one in five people without access to electricity – nearly 80 million young people out of work – 67 million children not in primary school – pervasive poverty – egregious disparities in access to sanitation and adequate health care,” said Mr. Ban in an <"http://www.un.org/apps/news/infocus/sgspeeches/statments_full.asp?statID=1417">address to the Fifth Meeting of his High-Level Panel on Global Sustainability.

“This is not equitable. It is not sustainable. Nor can we live with deteriorating ecosystems. Science tells us that we are approaching, and increasingly over-stepping certain planetary boundaries. This, too, is not sustainable,” he said.

The 21-member panel, which is co-chaired by President Tarja Halonen of Finland and her South African counterpart Jacob Zuma, is expected provide its final report next month after 16 months of work. It is tasked with finding ways to lift people out of poverty while tackling climate change and ensuring that economic development is environmentally friendly.

“Your recommendations will help shape the UN system’s policies on sustainable development for years to come,” said the Secretary-General.

“I look for your guidance on governance issues in particular. How can the UN system work more effectively – and with other institutions – to make sustainable development a reality?”

He said the panel’s report will also be a major contribution to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) in Brazil in June next year. He described the conference as “a once-in-a-generation opportunity that we cannot afford to waste.”

“All the issues that will be on the table in Rio – climate change, demographics, water, food, energy, global health, women’s empowerment – are intertwined. And all the pillars that underpin the Rio process – stabilizing the global economy, safeguarding the environment, and ensuring social equity – are parts of a single agenda.

“We cannot make progress in one without progress in the others. At Rio the world should act on this fundamental understanding,” he stressed, adding that the current economic crisis should not be an excuse for inaction.

آیا می‌توانیم فقر را به موزه‌ها بفرستیم؟

موفقیت اصلی محمد یونس ابتکار منحصربه فرد او در ایجاد بانک گرامین (Grameen Bank) و اعطای وام‌های کوچک به نیازمندان است.

او در سخنرانی خود هنگام دریافت جایزه نوبل اقتصاد در اسلو به تاریخ 10 دسامبر 2006 این‌گونه سخن می‌گوید:
بیشتر پیام‌های تبریکی که به مناسبت بردن جایزه نوبل به سوی من روانه شده، از سوی وام‌گیرندگان بنگلادشی است که از نقاط دور این کشور حس غرور و افتخار خود از دریافت این جایزه را به من اعلام کرده‌اند. امروز 9 نماینده از سوی 7 میلیون خانواده روستایی وام‌گیرنده از بانک گرامین، در این مراسم حضور دارند که همگی آنها زنان ساکن روستا‌های دور بنگلادش هستند. دریافت این جایزه آن‌قدر امیدبخش و شادی آفرین است که تقریبا همه مشتریان بانک ما در بنگلادش به گرد نزدیک‌ترین تلویزیون موجود در روستایشان جمع شده‌اند تا این مراسم را به طور مستقیم تماشا کنند. این جایزه، افتخار و اعتبار بسیار بزرگی برای تمام زنان بنگلادشی محسوب می‌شود که هر روزه با مشکلات زیادی در کلنجارند تا زندگی بهتری برای فرزندان خود فراهم آورند. مطمئنا لحظه گرفتن جایزه نوبل از سوی من، لحظه‌ای تاریخی برای همه آنها به شمار می‌رود.

فقر؛ تهدیدی برای صلح
بگذارید به آمارهای توزیع ثروت در جهان، خود داستان گویایی‌ است. 94 درصد از درآمد جهان به 40 درصد از جمعیت آن می‌رسد و این در حالی است که 60 درصد جمعیت دنیا تنها با 6 درصد کل درآمد جهان زندگی می‌کنند. نیمی از مردم دنیا با درآمد روزانه 2 دلار امرار معاش می‌کنند. بیش از یک میلیارد نفر از مردم دنیا هم با درآمدی کمتر از یک دلار در روز زندگی می‌کنند. قطعا این بی‌عدالتی، صلح را به ارمغان نخواهد آورد. هزاره جدید با رویایی عظیم آغاز شد. رهبران جهان در سال 2000 در سازمان ملل به دور هم جمع شده و متفق‌القول خواهان بسیج دولت‌ها و سازمان‌های غیردولتی جهان با هدف ایجاد کاهش قابل توجه فقر تا سال 2015 شدند. شاید این تنها رویایی بود که همه جهانیان بر تحقق آن یکصدا بودند. اما این رویا همزمان با حوادث 11 سپتامبر و جنگ عراق شکل گرفت. ناگهان همه توجهات معطوف به جنگ با تروریسم شد. تا امروز بیش از 530 میلیارد دلار تنها از سوی آمریکا هزینه جنگ عراق شده است.
من به شخصه معتقدم که با عملیات نظامی نمی‌توان تروریسم را از بین برد. اگرچه تروریسم می‌بایست شدیدا محکوم شود و ما باید با تمام قوا علیه آن اقدام کنیم؛ اما در ابتدا ریشه‌های تروریسم را باید یافت تا بتوان آن را برای همیشه خشکاند. برای خشکاندن پایدار ریشه‌های تروریسم نیاز است سطح معیشتی زندگی مردم را ارتقا داد، نه اینکه منابع مالی را صرف هزینه جنگ و خرید تسلیحات نظامی کرد.
صلح باید از طرق بشردوستانه، در حوزه‌های اجتماعی، سیاسی و اقتصادی ایجاد شود. امروزه عدم احقاق حقوق بشر، نابودی محیط زیست، نبودِ دموکراسی و بی‌عدالتی اقتصادی، اجتماعی و سیاسی، تهدیدات اصلی صلح جهانی به شمار می‌روند. ناامیدی، دشمنی و خشم حاصل از گسترش فقر، صلح را در هر جامعه‌ای تهدید می‌کند. برای حفظ صلح پایدار، می‌بایست فرصت‌هایی برای مردم جامعه فراهم آورد تا آنها بتوانند به طور شایسته زندگی کنند.

دور جدید بورس های اراسموس موندوس برای14 - 2012 آغاز شد.

5 مرکز معتبر اروپایی به طور مشترک دوره های کارشناسی ارشد علوم اطلاعات مکانی و مشاهدات زمین برای مدل سازی و مدیریت محیط زیست ارائه می نمایند. مدت زمان این دوره ها، 22 ماه می باشد و در 5 کشور ایسلند، سوئد، انگلستان، لهستان و هلند برگزار می شوند.

دوره های فوق در سال اول در هلند و یا سوئد برگزار می شوند . بسته به سوابق تحصیلی و علایق پذیرفته شدگان دوره در یکی از دو کشور فوق مستقر می شوند. به طور کلی محتویات دوره در هر دو کشور تقریباً یکسان است ولی افرادی که در هلند سال اول را می گذرانند روی تعاملات بین جامعه و تکنولوژی مربوط به مدل سازی و مدیریت زیست محیطی آموزش بیش تری خواهند دید.

(Collaborative Partnershp on Forests ( CPF که متشکل از 14 سازمان بین المللی است به این نتیجه رسیدند که برای جلوگیری از 95 درصد آتش سوزی های جنگل باید به دنبال مدیریت بهینه چشم انداز جنگل بود یعنی علاج واقعه قبل از درمان. که قطعاً مستلزم هزینه کرد و سرمایه گذاری زیاد هم می باشد اما به نظر می رسد هر چه سرمایه گذاری شود باز مقرون به صرفه تر از هزینه های تخریب ناشی از آتش سوزی جنگل است که گاهی بحران های شدید ایجاد می شود.

در این نوشتار فائو اشاره کرده است که عمده آتش سوزی ها از مراتع و مزارع شروع می شود یعنی در برنامه ریزی ها این ها نباید به فراموشی سپرده شوند. امیدوارم در همایشی که در استان گلستان با عنوان حریق جنگل برگزار می شود این موضوع هم مدنظر مقاله نویسان حرفه ای قرار گیرد. نکته بسیار مهم این که ساکنین محلی مهم ترین نقش را در کنترل آتش ایفاء می نمایند باید اولاً آموزش های لازم به آن ها داده شود در ثانی در برنامه ریزی هم باید مشارکت داشته باشند. ما که حتماً این ها را از بر هستیم اینقدر اجرا کردیم.!!!

کمیسیون انسان شناسی خاورمیانه انجمن بین المللی علوم انسان شناسی و مردم شناسی فراخوان همایشی با عنوان "  Children and Youth in a Changing World" را منتشر نمود که در شهر  Bhubaneswar کشور هندوستان در مورخه 30-26 نوامبر 2012 برگزار خواهد شد. جهت اطلاعات بیش تر به سایت ذیل مراجعه نمائید:

UNEP Seeking “Champions of the Earth”

هومان خاکپور کارشناس منابع طبیعی و مدیر یکی از تارنماهای مرجع زیست محیطی کشور به نام دیده بان طبیعت بختیاری در نقد لایحه جامع منابع طبیعی مطلبی نگاشته که عیناَ در اینجا ارائه می شود. متاسفانه علی رغم اهمیت موضوع و اطلاع رسانی نسبتاَ خوب بازخوردی از ناحیه فعالین علاقمند و کارشناسان محیط زیست دریافت نشده است. مطلب را می خوانید:

تغییرات اعمال شده بر “لایحه جامع منابع طبیعی” در روند رسیدگی در “کمیسیون کشاورزی، آب و منابع طبیعی مجلس” سبب افزایش نگرانی ها در بین بسیاری از کارشناسان و فعالان حوزه منابع طبیعی و محیط زیست کشور گردیده است. لایحه ای که قرار بود پس از تبدیل به قانون شدن؛ نقاط ضعف و خلأهای قوانین فعلی منابع طبیعی و دغدغه های دلسوزان منابع طبیعی کشور از حیث ناکارآمدی آن قوانین قدیمی را برطرف کند و با اجرای آن امیدواری برای دست یابی به پایداری سرزمین هایمان بیشتر شود.

شوربختانه خبرهایی که از روند رسیدگی و تغییرات اعمال شده بر برخی از مواد این لایحه به گوش می رسد حکایت از طبیعت ستیزی آشکار و ترویج بی قانونی در بین مردم داشته که در صورت تصویب در صحن علنی مجلس، در خوشبینانه ترین حالت؛ در منطقه ای مثل زاگرس بایستی حداقل 30 درصد از رویشگاه های جنگلی اش را از دست رفته به حساب آورد! و قطعا" این قانون وضعیتی بهتر را برای سایر زیست بوم های کشور رقم نخواهند زد.

 سازمان گردشگری جهانی در غالب پروژه ای مهارت های مدیریت گردشگری را برای 8000 نفر از شاغلین گردشگری پایدار در 7 کشور آفریقا و آسیا ارائه می دهد. پروژه را سازمان توسعه هلند SNV با اعتبارات اتحادیه اروپا انجام می دهد.

در هفته آب و جنگل " اقتصاد سبز" به عنوان یکی از مباحث کلیدی مورد بررسی قرار گرفت.

روز 26 آگوست: هفته آب و جنگل که با همت کمیسیون اقتصادی اروپا (UNECE) و فائو برگزار شد، مباحثی در مورد اقتصاد سبز خصوصاً نقش پرداخت ها برای خدمات اکوسیستم (PES) مطرح شد. هفته آب و جنگل در روزهای 8-4 ژوئیه 2011 در ژنو سوئیس برگزار شد.

لستر براون مدیر موسسه  سیاست زمین در مقاله ای عنوان کرد که گسترش بیابان ها، افت سطح سفره های آب زیرزمین و آلوده کننده های سمی باعث می شود که مردم خانه هایشان را ترک کرده و محل های دیگری را برای سکونت انتخاب کنند.

در این نوشتار اشاره شده است که هزاران روستا به خاطر توسعه بیابان و یا کم آبی متروکه شده اند. (آیا این تعداد متروکه شده است؟)

People do not normally leave their homes, their families, and their communities unless they have no other option. Yet as environmental stresses mount, we can expect to see a growing number of environmental refugees. Rising seas and increasingly devastating storms grab headlines, but expanding deserts, falling water tables, and toxic waste and radiation are also forcing people from their homes.

Advancing deserts are now on the move almost everywhere. The Sahara desert, for example, is expanding in every direction. As it advances northward, it is squeezing the populations of Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria against the Mediterranean coast. The Sahelian region of Africa—the vast swath of savannah that separates the southern Sahara desert from the tropical rainforests of central Africa—is shrinking as the desert moves southward. As the desert invades Nigeria, Africa's most populous country, from the north, farmers and herders are forced southward, squeezed into a shrinking area of productive land. A 2006 U.N. conference on desertification in Tunisia projected that by 2020 up to 60 million people could migrate from sub-Saharan Africa to North Africa and Europe.

In Iran, villages abandoned because of spreading deserts or a lack of water number in the thousands. In Brazil, some 250,000 square miles of land are affected by desertification, much of it concentrated in the country's northeast. In Mexico, many of the migrants who leave rural communities in arid and semiarid regions of the country each year are doing so because of desertification. Some of these environmental refugees end up in Mexican cities, others cross the northern border into the United States. U.S. analysts estimate that Mexico is forced to abandon 400 square miles of farmland to desertification each year.

گردهمایی- اصول ابتکار عمل مالی برنامه محیط زیست سازمان ملل برای مشاوره در مورد بیمه پایدار

این گردهمایی چهارمین نشست از هفت نشست منطقه ای برنامه ریزی شده برای مشاوره ابتکار عمل مالی برنامه محیط زیست سازمان ملل  (UNEP FI) در مورد تدوین اصول پایداری صنعت بیمه می باشد. انتظار می رود با نهایی شدن این کار، از آن به عنوان چارچوب جهانی بیمه پایدار توسط شرکت های بیمه استفاده شده و بدین ترتیب در مورد ریسک های  زیست محیطی، اجتماعی و حکمرانی عملکرد بهتری داشته باشند. 

بازار، بازار کربن است و کاهش انتشار یا افزایش جذب کربن یا امروری تر آن ترسیب و پول هنگفت و خوبی این وسط تو این آشفته بازار جابجا می شود. همین جابجا شدن ها باعث می شود که دستگاه ها و آَژانس های بین المللی از پول دارهاش گرفته تا بی پول هاش وسوسه شده و تلاش کنند در این زمینه فعالیتی انجام دهند.

از اون آژانس های پول دار یکیش هم این بانک جهانی است (که هر روز هم خبر ساز است) که یک دفتر و دستکی برای کربن راه انداخته و چند تا مشاور و کارشناس پرآوازه جفت و جور کرده که هر از چند وقت یکبار یک گزارشی تهیه می کنند.

از این دست گزارشات می شود به این گزارش اشاره کرد که نامش هست:
